Baptism

On August 17, 2008, Georgia was baptised at Holy Covenant United Methodist Church.

Pastor Trey doused her good. She seemed fine with it.

Sitting with mama, who long ago was baptised in the same gown.

Post-wardrobe change, out of the 4th generation gown, gathered for a windy family photo.

Without sounding too flippant or making light of this story, let me just say that apparently, it was a special religious day for all of us. Joe was full of "yes's," "I will's," and "I do's" despite earlier in the week discussing with the pastor (a very cool guy, by the way) at our home his disinclination to respond to all of the questions in the baptism ceremony, which the pastor was down with. Turns out Joe may or may not have "made a deal with God" regarding those questions during the short walk back to the church after parking the car on Sunday. Well, okay then.

So impressed that Georgia made it through without crying... we were not that fortunate.

Looks like a lovely baptism :-)

Or, maybe Joe was just "thinking about cheeses" . . .

Looks like a great day. I'm curious to know what the questions were.
