Joe's (2nd) cousin Samantha adopted a little boy from Haiti, and he's finally here! After a long adoption process, her seemingly interminable wait was suddenly accelerated by the tragic earthquake in Port-au-Prince this January. Humanitarian visa in hand, Widkelly's arrival was pushed up 10 months on a moment's notice.
Can you imagine? There's probably nothing that can quite prepare you for getting an email that says you have 24 hours to get to Miami to pick up your 1 1/2 year old son.
{First snow. Photo lifted from Samantha's blog.}
We can't wait to meet him in person!

Congrats! What a journey.
I have heard several of these stories since the earthquake and am amazed everytime. I love reading stories of adoption! I might have to check out her blog.
