C'mon Get Happy!

I'm hesitant to even put this out there, but here goes.  I just signed up for Dr. Christine Carter's Raising Happiness homestudy/online course.  It's not cheap, and it's a rather long term commitment, but I'm super excited about it.

This may have been the online shopping equivalent of seeing an infomercial late at night and then actually ordering.  Or watching an Oreos ad and suddenly finding yourself satisfying your sweet tooth in the aisles of Walgreens.  Yes, it was impulsive, but hopefully a much more worthwhile purchase in the long run than a package of Oreos or a thigh master or a 10 disc compilation of disco's greatest hits.

I learned about this course via Rookie Moms, and you can read more about it here, and pick up a 10% discount code if you're interested in joining me.  (And Joe.  What a good guy he is.  He's agreed to be pulled along for the ride.)  Or, watch this video straight from the horse's mouth explaining more.

So why am I telling you about it before I've even tried it myself?  Well, because Dr. Carter recommends finding a buddy or forming a discussion group, and I don't even quite know how to do that, but I thought sharing the course information here might be a good start.  I guess tell me if you sign up, and then we'll be buddies starting this Monday!

It's $449 after the 10% discount, so yeah, a serious investment.  But obviously I rationalized it, so call me if you need a list of reasons why this is worth making financial sacrifices elsewhere.  I'm a great enabler when need be.

P.S.  Everyone's welcome to the party as far as I'm concerned, but just as an fyi, this one's definitely geared towards parents or people currently (or about to be) raising kids.  Caveat emptor.

Hmmm... Maybe I'll check out the book. Not sure I'm up for the online course but I'm curious about her ideas.

Oh, Maggie, why'd you have to go and get all logical about it? Your way does make sense. : )
