An offering for the hall from someone far more generous than I...
Today I am thankful for my job. I purposely don't discuss it much on this blog, and to be honest I generally spend way more time griping about it than appreciating it. But today I was lucky enough to survive a veritable bloodbath of layoffs within my department. In the U.S., the firm laid off 80 associates and 100 staff. It was an awful, awful day at the office, with lots of tears from those departing as well as some of us who will remain. I can't offer much advice to anyone reading this who is going something similar or worse, except to say that I found that buying a few boxes of Girl Scout cookies for sale in the building lobby, and then proceeding to eat an entire sleeve of Thin Mints seemed to help me get through the day.
And now, just to lighten things up a bit, we return to our regularly scheduled programming with a quickie video of Miss G playing "rock the baby," something that either Steph or Harry must've taught her. It involves rocking herself on the glider footstool, or, as it turns out, flopping over on any given chair.
Huh, I didn't even know she knew the word "camera." Do you think this means we're taking too many pictures?

Thin mints and babies always do the trick! I am so glad that things worked out in your favor.
Wow. I'm so sorry to hear about the layoffs at your firm but I'm glad you weren't among those booted. Bad bad bad bad.
Georgia is so cute though and so no matter what happens you've got a sweet life and Joe can always be your sugar daddy. :p
So glad to hear you survived the wave of layoffs. BTW, If you ever need a partner in cookie-munching crime, I'm happy to finish off the box with you....
Georgia is adorable. Pretty soon she'll be wanting to take the pics herself :-)
