FAQ: Where will you put the new baby?

Why, here, of course!

Just kidding. Well, sort of. That's our guest room/office/present dumping grounds for in-progress projects, in a total state of disarray. No, let's call it a state of "transition," okay?

The big question is whether we'll have the 2 kids share a room once the baby is sleeping through the night, or whether we'll give up our spare bedroom (pictured) in order to give each child its own room. I think we're leaning towards separate rooms, but then that begs the question of whether we'll move Georgia, or leave Georgia where she is and put the baby in this room. Hmmmm.... We are very indecisive. Also under consideration is cleaning all clothes out of my closet (a walk-in, at least) in favor of using it as a nursery of sorts until we make a more permanent decision. I know that sounds nuts, but we only lasted about a week and a half with Georgia sleeping in our room as a newborn. Someone *cough* Joe *cough* was a pretty light sleeper and couldn't take it. Since the spare bedroom is on a different floor than the master, we also have to consider my terrible night vision adjustment period and related fear of falling down the stairs when going to nurse the baby in the middle of the night. Oh, and then there's Joe's total neurosis surrounding the idea of not having all family members on the same floor. Let's just say that he apparently envisions masked bandits rappelling down the side of the building to break, enter, rob us, and steal our children. The words "bullet proof glass" have actually come out of his mouth when discussing this simple sleeping arrangement question. We don't exactly see eye to eye on this, since in my opinion anyone legitimately considering bullet proof glass should probably also be considering moving.

So, there you have it. The baby will be in a bassinet, either in our room or my closet, at least until we decide on a more permanent solution.
