Firsts

This week was the:

First time I heard her say the word "princess."

First time I heard her ask, "Why?"

First time I heard her say, "Will you pick me up please, Mommy?" instead of, "I see Mommy."

She can talk on the phone while sipping her drink just like a teenager. She sits at dinner with a sassy pony tail that makes us wonder how we'll keep the boys at bay when she hits junior high. It feels like she's growing up so fast, but then again there's also:

Counting to "eleventeen."
Shouting "I love Tito Puente!"
Asking us very specifically each night when we tuck her in, "Can you go sit on your bottoms? On the couch? And stay awake? And watch football? On your bottoms?"

Oh, and the topper: unabashedly farting directly in Joe's face (at extremely close range) while jumping naked on the bed and crashing into pillows. Somehow 9+ months of pregnancy and 2 1/2 years worth of parenting work all paid off in that moment for me. Ha!

EDITED TO ADD: Almost forgot! First movie this week - Finding Nemo (in installments).

Who doesn't love Tito Puente? That alone confirms your superior parenting skills. Or is that skillz?

Well, let's face it, you do need to sit on your bottoms more often... all that standing is a bit tiresome.
