Thoughts on Life, Death, and Marriage on the Occasion of Our 6th Anniversary

It is 11:08. Joe's asleep in bed beside me, with the lights still on. Our two girls were tucked into bed hours ago. So much has changed in 6 years.

Cuervo

On New Year's Day, my last surviving grandmother passed away at age 95. Gigi, the one whom Georgia is named after. I flew to Tulsa this week for the funeral and left Joe behind with the kids. No instructional notes. No pre-cooked meals. Yes, he's a good catch.

We sometimes feel like we can't keep up. One room is being destroyed as another is being cleaned. Bills sometimes go unpaid for lack of time, not money. Milk, toilet paper, laundry, repeat. Our teamwork isn't always effortless.

But I still love this man as much as I did then.

Maybe more.

Jessica, I know it is sad that we haven't been to Mexico together for 6 whole years, but please pull it together. One day we will remedy that situation.
