Is that a lima bean, or are you just happy to see me?

Georgia has never been one for naming her friends (stuffed animals) or baby dolls.  Everything is just "lamby" or "doggie" or "baby."  She's quite literal in the naming.  Every once in a while, though, she'll branch out and when asked what the object of her affectionate is named, she will answer "Zvjeippprt!"  or some other unintelligible sound.

Also relevant to this story is the fact that lately she's taken to noticing shapes in her food.  Like she'll take 4 bites of a piece of toast and announce, "Look!  It's a dog!"  Sometimes she's right.  I can't wait for her to discover baby Jesus in her macaroni or something like that, but so far, it's been all animals.

Scene:  last night's dinner.  Take-out pizza, and frozen (microwaved) mixed vegetables.  (Are you sad you missed this, or what?)
Georgia triumphantly holds up a lima bean and declares, "Look, Mommy!  It looks like a shark!"  (It bore no resemblance to a shark as far as I could tell, but maybe I don't have the eye for it.)
Joe asks what the shark's name is.
"Cock!"  (She of course has no clue that there is any meaning to the sound she has just made.  Not even the chicken/rooster meaning.)
We are very immature and start giggling.
"Cack?" Joe asks, kind of hoping we misheard her.
"No, Cock!"
We are laughing.
"Cock! Cock! Cock!"
We are cracking up, which is causing Georgia to laugh, because she's so pleased with herself for having made the crowd laugh, even if she has no idea why.  June is laughing her most wonderful laugh because she is at a glorious age where, when the world around you laughs, you laugh too.  Something must be funny is good enough reason for her.

I don't care how juvenile it is.  I love the fact that the dumbest things can be the best part of my day.

On that note, I apologize for the post title.  Well, not really or I would have changed it.

You do realize that now that she attends pre-school she will be learning all kinds of new words!
