Pumpkin Patch

What a beautiful day for a trip to the pumpkin patch,

where they even have pumpkins as big as your head,

but wait one teeny, tiny minute...

maybe all is not as it seems.

Mama, why is there a fire hydrant in this pumpkin patch? And could you perhaps relocate me farther from these rusty nails?

WHAT'S THAT HONEY?  I CAN'T HEAR YOU OVER THE SEMIS ON THE HIGHWAY!

Welcome to the urban pumpkin patch.

At least we got to go out to eat afterwards.

{Not really. I just wanted to show you this sign. Who drives thru and orders $75 worth of fast food? 50 pieces of chicken - seriously?}

All's well that ends well. The pumpkins got the stroller, and this one got to ride with her dad.

So, I guess I'm a bad mom for not making the "real" pumpkin farm pilgrimage this fall, but since June's a little young to appreciate it, and my sister did the honor of taking Georgia out to the country on my nephew's preschool's field trip, it seemed reasonable to skip the trek this year.  I do love the real deal - I'm not knocking it and am sure we'll go again someday.  But for now, this pitiful lot of pumpkins in the middle of a busy intersection was actually plenty of entertainment for the girls and satisfied our carving needs.

I like that Georgia had a chance to wear her cowboy boots!

what do you mean "a chance"? she wore them to school today! she wears them often, they just happen to look like a prop at our fake pumpkin patch visit. : )
