View from my hammock

View from my hammock

Just got back from 3 nights in Mexico, our first real trip away with just the two of us since before Georgia was born. No phones, TV, or Internet at this place, (with the exception of twice daily blackberry checks for work and word from Joe's parents who were graciously watching the girls). Not bad at all. The beach scene had an international flair - about 1/3 Americans, 1/3 Mexicans, and 1/3 "other", mostly Europeans. This made for a surprising quantity of TNA at the beach, which was great for Joe I'm sure, not so uplifting for this here pregnant lady in a swimsuit whose weight will undoubtedly soon surpass her husband's, not that that prevented me from appreciating the beauty on display (almost 100% female, in case there was any confusion on that point).  We squeezed in two beach runs and almost made it to a yoga class; pity it conflicted with the rest of our morning agenda: sleeping, and eating an enormous breakfast.  Must've caught up on sleep and then some, because we actually got up on purpose to watch the sunrise over the ocean on our last morning in this tropical paradise.  All in all, an amazing, much needed, fortuitously timed getaway.

Sorry to make you jealous. But I could not be happier that Joe finally made good on his promise to take me away before Baby #2 was born......before Baby #3 is born, that is.

[Full set of Playa del Carmen pics here if you want to see them, although I think you have to add my Flickr handle "baumgak" to your contacts in order to view these.]

I know it's only been 48 hours, but ready for the picture of your sandy relaxed toes NOT to be the lead in to the blog........ Waiting for something new. And less envy-producing....

I'm mentally transporting myself there as I type. (And I'm wishing I had such presentable feet!)

ha! cover them in sand and photograph from a safe distance and your feet will look okay too. you don't want a closer inspection of mine, trust me. as you can probably see from the pic, I'm not a pedicure girl. : )
