Apparently I was a bit snap-happy this week, because I've seen the Easter blog posts of a few of my friends already, and somehow they all managed to include about 3 photos that perfectly captured the essence of their day.
Also, I think we had an Easter theme at our house this year. Do a dress, a headband, and two books from the Easter Bunny qualify as a theme? If so, then we had a Paris theme. Which makes me laugh, because I like to think there is a family with young children over in France who just had a Chicago themed Easter. (Yeah, I know there's not, but I can pretend, okay?)
We had a fantastic day that was so much more relaxed than last year that I think I'm giving myself the most-improved award in the category of less uptight mothering.
World's Softest Bunny!
Indoor hunt over. Ready for the outdoor hunt with our upstairs neighbor, Chethan.
June, our resident sugar fiend, went for all the plastic eggs that the neighbor put M&M's in. Georgia hunted only the real eggs knowing that she can't eat M&M's.
Our amazingly crafty and artistic babysitter made the girls' headbands, and then I added the black puffy paint and French flag details.
I really admire people who never make their children pose for pictures or say "cheese" and instead capture life as it happens. Which is why today I made sure to just let events unfold and photograph our children where they always are anyway: hugging and smiling in front of tulips.
Okay, this is more like it:
