Re: Formal Request for Bike

The only question is whether to wait until her 5th birthday (a typical big deal gift in these parts), or spring for it sooner so that she can practice for more of the summer.

How can we say no when she's putting her requests in writing? (She came home from school with this today.)

Now! Get it now! And frame that letter!

I wanted to wait, but my son was ready around 4 1/2 years. He rode a balance bike prior to the big bike. He learned how in about a half a block. It was amazing. I don't think you'll regret getting it now. And that letter - amazing!

I think you get it sooner but tie it to a different event - PRESCHOOL GRADUATION! Hooray! You are a big girl! You graduated from preschool! Here's a bike!

I'm a sucker. I maybe would have headed to the store the instant I pulled that note out of the bag!! :)

Watch the note thing. That's how we ended up with a dog.

I'd go ahead and get it for her now so as to maximize her use of it this summer. That's a cute note. I am a horrible wicked person though because I really want to redline it for her :p

Thanks for the input!

Kat - you crack me up.
Kathy - Wow. Thanks for the heads up!
Danni - you should be a preschool teacher. Sounds like you'd be great. ; )
