Judge Away

I have hired a babysitter to come over for two hours and am currently sitting down the hall in my own bedroom, sipping coffee, with a white noise machine on to drown out the sound of children.  Honesty rules!

Maybe if I get ambitious I will tackle the closet again.

Forgive me for not feeling lovey dovey these days.  I desperately want to get back to positivity again.  But for now I know that I can't appreciate the magical wonder that is childhood without more breaks from the kids.  That's just me.

Seriously, Kate?! No one should judge you for taking time to yourself. You deserve it! Comments like these remind me how lucky my sister is...between my mom and I, plus a list of babysitters, she gets the kids off her hands quite frequently.

Thanks, Susan. And good for her! Smart women accept help! And good for you for being a helper. It truly takes a village, as they say.

Clearly I am all for the time away. But I think you probably even deserve to venture to a coffee shop, where they make the coffee for you (and wash the dishes/take out the trash). I have some anxiety about the summer when I'll be home with a toddler and a newborn; are you sure you don't want to move to upstate New York so we can hang out together?
I assume that the energy reflected in the haircutting, etc. indicates that the troops have recovered to full strength?

Ditto what Susan said. Plus, Kate time will just be better for everyone, not just you, in the long run. Now do this more often!

Young kids are no joke with their gorgeous grubby, reachey-outey little hands and constant whines for snacks and drinks and ATTENTION, right? :)

Hope you enjoyed your coffee and glorious, glorious silence!!!

Don't blame you at all.

Before I had kids, I never understood why people would take their kids to daycare if they had the day off. NOW I TOTALLY UNDERSTAND. Good for you. Money well spent.
